To get the most out of Blueshift’s features, you must add Events that track user interactions on your website and apps. Event data is associated with customers based on unique profile identifiers .

We recommend that you track the following events for your users:

Event Description
Pageload Page loaded completely
Identify Add or update customer
Signed_up Customer signed up on your site or app
View Item viewed
Search Customer searched for item
Add to Cart Item added to cart
Checkout Order checkout started
Purchase Checkout completed
app_update Customer opens your app after updating it.
(Only available when the Mobile channel is enabled)
app_install Customer opens the app after installing it on their device.
(Only available when the Mobile channel is enabled)

You can also add custom events and use them as custom goals for campaign attribution .

View events stream

You can view the event stream by navigating to Customer Data > Events in the left navigation panel.

Download error events

When you view the event stream, you can also review errors and download the error log.

Go to the Error events tab and click Export error data to download the error log.

View event details

When you select an event from the stream, the event details page opens. The page is organized into four tabs: Properties, Publish, History, and Usage.

Properties tab

The Properties tab shows event information and configuration options. You can also view and copy the tracking code for the event.

You can set a standard event as a goal event by contacting your CSM or emailing support@blueshift.com. Learn more about goal events .

Publish tab

The Publish tab lets you create and send a test event. Enter attributes, view the event data, and then click Publish.

History tab

The History tab displays up to 50 of the most recent successful events, with timestamps on the left and the JSON payload on the right.

Usage tab

The Usage tab lists the campaigns that are associated with this event.

Track an event

You can use the provided JavaScript code snippet from the Properties tab to track an event on your site.

Import & export event data

Blueshift provides several methods and pre-built integrations to import and export events data.
