Data Studio is your central hub for exploring schemas in your Blueshift account. It provides a user-friendly interface to help you gain insights into your data structure and manage it efficiently.

Currently, Data Studio focuses on customer attributes, allowing you to:

  • View and explore key details of your schema, including standard, custom, predictive, derived, and computed attributes.
  • Navigate nested attributes effortlessly for a deeper understanding of your data.
  • Edit descriptions for custom attributes to ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Download schema details in JSON format for offline analysis and integration with other tools.

In addition to exploring your existing customer attributes, you can also create your own computed attributes from within Data Studio. These let you define custom logic based on event activity or user behavior.

Where to find Data Studio

  • Navigate to the Customer Data section in the left-hand menu.
  • Click on Data Studio to access the feature.

Attribute usage report

The Attribute usage report helps you identify where customer attributes are used across your account, such as in segments, campaigns, and templates.

To generate the report, go to the Customer Schema tab in Data Studio and click the download icon near the top-right corner of the screen (next to the "Custom Attribute" button).

When you click the download icon, a link to download the report will be emailed to you. The report is downloaded as a CSV file containing attribute usage details. If a report has already been generated within the last 24 hours, the same download link will be sent again.

The downloaded CSV report provides a detailed view of how customer attributes are used across your account. Each row represents an attribute, and the report includes the following columns:

  • Attribute name: The name of the customer attribute being used.
  • Entity type: The type of object where the attribute is used, such as a segment, campaign, or template.
  • Entity name: The name of the specific segment, campaign, or template referencing the attribute.
  • Path: The path or context within the entity where the attribute appears.
