Computed attributes let you create dynamic, calculated data points from your event data. By applying functions, filters, and time-based windows, you can define attributes like total revenue, average order value, or first purchase date — all of which help enhance customer profiles with actionable insights.

Once created, computed attributes are automatically updated daily to reflect the most recent customer activity. These values can then be used across segmentation, personalization, and analysis workflows.

  Admin access required

This feature is available only to the Admin role.

Key benefits

  • Enrich customer profiles: Add attributes that summarize behavioral patterns or transactional data.
  • Improve segmentation: Use metrics like "number of purchases in the last 30 days" or "average deposit amount" to define more precise audiences.
  • Personalize campaigns: Leverage recent customer activity to drive tailored content and recommendations.
  • Automate data freshness: Each computed attribute is refreshed daily to keep your data relevant.

  Packaging and limits

This feature is currently available only for accounts in the US region.

By default, you can create up to 5 active computed attributes and have access to a limited event attribute schema. Accounts with the Profiles and schemas package can create up to 50 active attributes and access an extended event attribute schema.

Need a higher limit? Please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager (CSM).

Examples of computed attributes

  • Total revenue earned by a customer
  • Number of purchases where order value > ₹1,000
  • Date of the first application submitted
  • Average deposit amount in the last 6 months

Once launched, these attributes are accessible within the Customer Schema and available across segmentation and campaign workflows.

⏱️  Availability & refresh schedule

Computed attributes are typically available within an hour of being launched and are refreshed automatically every day at 01:00 UTC.
