Step 2.2: Setup Audience

  • Select segment (you want to syndicate)
  • Select your preference for global control group
  • Select whether it would an incremental export (i.e. after the first full segment export, only new users who are added to or removed from the segment would be sent to LiveRamp on subsequent runs) or full export (i.e. the full segment of users will be sent over to LiveRamp every time)
  • Set up email notifications for status updates as per preference

Setup Audience.png

Once you complete your selections, Blueshift will show you the filename and location in LiveRamp where the segment will be sent to. The full path of the export looks like:

/uploads/blueshift_<audience_type>_<refresh_type>/<segment_name>

Where,

  • audience_type: Can have 2 possible values: ‘offline’ or ‘online’. (Refer to step 1)
  • refresh_type: Can have 2 possible values: ‘incremental’ or ‘full. (Refer to step 2.2)
  • segment_name: Would be the customer segment name in the Blueshift platform , in lowercase, with spaces replaced by underscores ( ‘_’) and with the file extension = .csv

Example 1

You have a segment named ‘Inactive Users’ that you want to sync with LiveRamp using offline identifiers and do a full refresh every time. The file would be available in the following path in LiveRamp:

/uploads/blueshift_offline_full/inactive_users.csv

Example 2

You have a segment named ‘New Users’ that you want to sync with LiveRamp using online identifiers and do a full refresh every time. The file would be available in the following path in LiveRamp:

/uploads/blueshift_online_incremental/new_users.csv

Note: If you select ‘incremental’ exports, Blueshift will generate 2 files - (i) one for the list of all users in the segment and (ii) a list of users who dropped out of the segment at some point in time. So in the above example, you would have 2 files:

  1. /uploads/blueshift_online_incremental/new_users.csv
  2. /uploads/blueshift_online_incremental/new_users_suppression.csv

You will need to use the second list to suppress users when targeting them on a paid media platform e.g. Pinterest.

Step 2.3: Setup Cadence

  • Select how frequently you would like to refresh the data in LiveRamp

Step 2.4: Setup Mapping

  • Map the customer attributes in Blueshift to customer identifiers in LiveRamp so that LiveRamp can match the customer on their end.

    • The list of identifiers depends on your region and the the audience type (online vs offline)

Step 2.5: Launch

  • Save your syndication configuration and launch it
  • Note: Once you launch a syndication, you will not be able to edit any of the settings except for the cadence (step 2.3) and recipients for status notifications (step 2.2)
