Subscription groups let you manage consent at a more granular level than channel subscriptions. You can define groups based on brands, message types, or customer interests, and associate them with customer profiles and campaigns.
Prerequisites
Enable access
To enable access to subscription groups in your account, contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or email support@getblueshift.com.

| Manager | Full access (create, edit, view) |
| Analyst | View-only |

View & edit subscription groups
The Subscription groups index page displays all groups in a table with these columns:
- Subscription group ID: Unique ID for the subscription group
- Subscription group label: Display name
- Author: User who created or last updated the group
- Updated at: Date and time of the latest update
Use the search bar to find groups by name, or filter by author to narrow results.
To edit a group, you can:
- Click the row in the index page, or
- Click the three-dot menu (⋯) at the end of the row and select Edit.
You can update the Label and Description. The ID cannot be changed after creation.
Archive subscription groups
You can archive subscription groups that are no longer in use. Archiving helps keep your subscription data organized and prevents outdated groups from being associated with customer profiles.
To archive a subscription group:
- From the Subscription Groups index page, click the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the group you want to archive to open the Archive Subscription Group confirmation pop-up screen.
- Confirm the action in the dialog box.
Dependency validation
Before archiving, Blueshift checks if the group is used in any campaigns (at the campaign or trigger level), segment builder filters, or adapters. If dependencies exist, an error message lists the affected items. Remove the group from those locations before archiving.
Once archived:
- The group can’t be associated with customer profiles through Identify events, Customer API updates, or imports.
- It no longer appears on customer profiles.
- You can use the status filter on the index page to view Active or Archived groups.
What’s next
