Amplitude is a powerful event analytics tool that provides businesses with valuable insights into user behavior and engagement (and the whys behind it). It provides a central hub for collecting, analyzing, and understanding user behavior across all digital touchpoints (websites, apps, etc.). You can see how users navigate your product, identify pain points, and understand what features resonate most. 

When you integrate Blueshift and Amplitude, you can


Before you can integrate with Blueshift, you must have your Amplitude account set up.

Export event data from Blueshift to Amplitude

Set up Amplitude adapter for event export

To add an Amplitude event export adapter in Blueshift, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to the Blueshift app, and click App Hub in the left navigation menu.
  2. Go to All Apps, search for, and select Amplitude (Event export).
  3. You can also go to Analytics Apps and select Amplitude (Event export).
  4. In the Amplitude configuration page, click +ADAPTER to add an adapter as a new data source. The page also lists any adapters that are already configured.
  5. Add a Name for the adapter.  If you have multiple adapters, the adapter name helps you to identify the integration.
  6. Provide the following details for integration:
    Field Description
    API Key The API key for your Amplitude account project
  7. Click Save to add the adapter.

The adapter is now connected to your Blueshift account. As the next step, select the adapter that you just created when you set up an export task.

You can edit, clone, archive, and delete the adapters from the Adapters list, as shown below.

To create an export event task, you should navigate to Customer Data > Events in the left navigation and click Export Events. For more information on this, see Event exports.

Send user cohorts to Amplitude

You must enable this integration in each Amplitude project you want to use it in.
You can sync Amplitude Cohorts as Customer Lists in Blueshift. Blueshift supports both email and customer_id as the identifier for creating customer lists. You will need to map the Identifier field for the integration in Amplitude to either email or customer_id.

Blueshift setup

  1. In Blueshift, navigate to Account Settings > API Keys.
  2. Copy the User API Key(1) and Blueshift API Password/secret(2) to your clipboard.

Amplitude setup

  1. In Amplitude Data, click Catalog and select the Destinations tab.
  2. In the Cohort section, search for Blueshift
  3. Click on Blueshift
  4. Click Add another destination.
  5. Enter Name and paste in the User API key(1) and Blueshift AP Password/Secret(2) you copied from Blueshift.
  6. Select the region where your Blueshift instance is hosted - US or EU

  7. Select the type of User ID from the dropdown (email or customer_id).
  8. Map the Amplitude field that you want to use as Identifier to either Email or Customer ID
  9. Save when finished.

Send a cohort

To sync your first cohort, follow these steps:

  1. In Amplitude, open the cohort you want to sync, then click Sync on the top right corner.

  2. Select Blueshift, then click Next.
  3. Choose the connector that you have setup in Amplitude
  4. Choose the sync cadence.
  5. When finished, save your work.

Locate your cohort in Blueshift

  1. Navigate to Data > Customers > List.
  2. Find cohorts synced from Amplitude with nomenclature - [Amplitude] {Amplitude cohort name}: {Amplitude cohort ID}.
  3. You will be able to use these lists in creating segments and for further activation in Audience Syncs or Campaigns


The identifier you select to sync the cohort to Blueshift may not be a unique key in Amplitude. This means there can be duplicate values of the identifier when synced to Blueshift. Blueshift dedupes the values. This may lead to total number of user sync'ed appearing lesser in Blueshift compared to Amplitude. If you want to make sure all the users are sync'ed, you can download the audit report from Amplitude and match it with the Customer list in Blueshift for unique values.
