Insights Reports give you meaningful insight into campaign performance and the ability to quickly identify areas of improvement across your campaigns. While you can learn a lot from a single report, comparing two reporting periods side-by-side can yield even greater insights. Comparative reporting (Time over time analysis) will tell you what’s changed so that you can identify the reason and effectively strategize to achieve the required outcomes in the future.
Time over time analysis
The following example compares sends from a Fixed time period (Sept 1, 2023 to Sept 30, 2023) to the sends from the Previous period (Aug 2, 2023 to Aug 31, 2023).
Use Cases
Compare to the Previous Time Period
Compare the campaign performance to that from the immediately preceding period of the same duration.
- Select the required Metric.
- Select the time period that you want to compare. For example, the Time can be yesterday, last 7 days, last 90 days, last year and so on.
- For Compare to, select Previous period. The corresponding previous time period is automatically selected.
Example: Compare sends, grouped by channels, from the last 90 days (14 April, 2023 to 13 July, 2023) to sends from the previous period of 90 days (13 Jan, 2023 to 13 April 2023).

Compare to Moving Time Period
Compare the campaign performance from a certain period to any custom preceding period of time.
- Select the required Metric.
- Select the time period that you want to compare. For example, the Time can be yesterday, last 7 days, last 90 days, last year and so on.
- For Compare to, select Moving time window. Select the required time period for comparison.
Example: Compare impressions, grouped by browser type, from the last 7 days (1 Oct, 2023 to 8 Oct, 2023) to impressions from the same period last year (1 Oct, 2022 to 8 Oct 2022).

Compare to a Fixed Time Period
If you have a benchmark period you want to compare to.
- Select the required Metric.
- Select the fixed time period that you want to compare to.
- For Compare to, select Fixed time window. Select the required start time for the time period for comparison.
Example: Compare sends from a Fixed time period (2 Oct, 2023 to 8 Oct, 2023) to sends from the another Fixed Period (8 May, 2023 to 14 May 2023).

Compare to Previous Month
If the time window of your report is less than a month, you can compare the report to the same period in the previous month.
Example: Compare month-to-date sends for this month (Apr 01, 2024 - Apr 09, 2024) to the same period last month (Mar 01, 2024 - Mar 09, 2024).
Compare to Previous Year
If the time window of your report is less than a year, you can compare the report to the same period in the previous year.
Example: Compare year-to-date sends for this year (Jan 01, 2024 - Apr 06, 2024) to the same period last year (Jan 01, 2023 - Apr 06, 2023).
