Blueshift for BlueConic customers

Activate your BlueConic data with Blueshift — see how.

Your BlueConic profiles already know who your customers are and what they want. Blueshift turns that intelligence into revenue — orchestrating multi-step journeys that decide the next move for each customer, and feeding every response back into the profile that drove it.

Why Blueshift for activation

Your segments are the campaign audience

Segments, profile attributes, and real-time actions like abandoned cart or added to wishlist — all connect straight into Blueshift. Nothing to rebuild, nothing extra to maintain.

Compounding intelligence

Every campaign makes the next one smarter. Engagement flows back to BlueConic, sharpening your next journey. The system keeps improving — it never resets.

Journeys shaped by context

Multi-step sequences — waits, branches, content variations — personalized on the BlueConic attributes you've mapped: affinity, lifecycle stage, declared preferences, and more.

One system, not another vendor

Blueshift is part of BlueConic — one login, one team behind both products. Activation is no longer a third-party relationship.

Whole new suite of capabilities

Recommendation engines pick the right product every send. Campaign optimization finds the winning variant and shifts traffic live — plus agentic capabilities that lighten your team's manual work.

  Prefer outcomes first?

Teams recover abandoned carts, follow up on high intent, nurture declared interest, and strengthen retention through lifecycle and win-back journeys. These use cases are covered in detail, along with when they trigger.

Data flow

Direction What moves
BlueConic → Blueshift Segments and selected profile attributes synchronize on a schedule. BlueConic calls the Blueshift API to trigger campaigns the moment a qualifying event occurs.
Blueshift → BlueConic Campaign activity and supported engagement events return to the customer profile and timeline.

One login covers both — single sign-on runs from the Blueshift connection in your BlueConic dashboard.

How campaigns start

Campaigns start in one of two ways. One sends right away, the other waits for the next sync — worth knowing which before you plan one.

Mechanism Entry Timing
Real-time BlueConic calls Blueshift when a qualifying event occurs On receipt of the API call
Segment-based Blueshift uses synchronized segment membership On the synchronization schedule

Real-time campaigns fire instantly — no waiting on segment sync. Just make sure the attributes you want to personalize with are already in Blueshift.

Segment-based campaigns come in two types. A one-time send goes out once, to everyone in the segment at that moment. A recurring campaign re-checks the segment on a schedule and can run a full multi-step journey.

Use cases

Six things teams build first — each one running on data that's already in place. If you're picking one to start with, cart recovery and declared-interest nurture tend to prove the value fastest, because the triggering data is usually already flowing.

Cart and checkout abandonment

Real-time Retail, e-commerce

Your upstream system spots the abandonment, calls the Blueshift API, and the customer enters a recovery journey — reminder, wait, follow-ups branching on engagement.

The journey personalizes on whatever BlueConic attributes you've mapped — category affinity, lifecycle stage, order count, last category purchased — without first exporting that data into another tool's profile store. One send later, the engagement is back on the BlueConic profile.

High-intent follow-up

Real-time Broad — strongest where consideration runs long

Someone's clearly interested but hasn't converted. When BlueConic spots the qualifying behavior, it triggers a Blueshift journey that follows up across several steps — not one message and done.

The signal looks different by vertical — category browsing in retail, destination searches in travel, quote research in financial services, content interest in media — but the pattern is the same everywhere.

Declared-interest nurture

Real-time Consumer goods, any brand running Experiences

A customer completes a quiz, product finder, preference center, or form in BlueConic Experiences — and tells you exactly what they want.

Those declared attributes are already on the BlueConic profile, which means they're already available to the journey — no exporting quiz data to a separate platform before you can act on it. What they told you powers multiple messages and steps, not one thank-you email.

Lifecycle stage journeys

Segment-based Broadest applicability

Every lifecycle stage in BlueConic can drive its own journey — at-risk retention, renewal, second-purchase nurture. You define the stages once, in BlueConic, rather than keeping a parallel set of lists in sync in your sending platform.

Timing: entry depends on how frequently lifecycle segment membership synchronizes. This is not immediate.

Lapsed customer reactivation

Segment-based Subscription, travel, retail

Dormant customers enter a structured sequence — opening message, wait, branch on response — rather than getting one win-back blast. Dormancy is defined once, in BlueConic, against the full profile; later steps account for updated eligibility as that data reaches Blueshift.

Affinity-led launches

Segment-based Retail, consumer goods, media

Launch to the people who'll care most — the affinity data lives on the BlueConic profile, so the early-access segment is built from real browse and purchase signals, not a proxy list. Use a recurring campaign if you want follow-up steps; a one-time send delivers a single message.

Simple mapping, not migration

BlueConic stays the source of truth. Segments and profiles sync into Blueshift to power your campaigns.

BlueConic keeps Blueshift adds
Segmentation and segment membership Campaign building, journeys, and sending
The full customer profile — your source of truth A working copy: the identity and attributes needed to execute
Product catalog and recommendation feeds Campaign reporting, with supported activity returning to BlueConic

Start with segments you already trust — syncing your best performers is the shortest path to a live campaign. Two things to sort during setup:

  1. Map the attributes you'll personalize on. Only synchronized attributes reach your journeys, so decide early — affinity, lifecycle stage, purchase summaries.
  2. Sync consent. Channel preferences and opt-ins need to be in your BlueConic profile schema and synced across before campaigns run.
