Blueshift’s Template Assistant simplifies creating and customizing templates, making them accessible to users regardless of their coding experience. Acting like a personal assistant, the Template Assistant allows you to provide instructions or suggestions by typing or using voice commands (prompts), which the assistant executes to help you complete your task. 

Whether inserting dynamic content, adjusting styles, or resolving issues, the Template Assistant handles the technical tasks for you, minimizing manual effort. It lets you experiment with styles, personalize content based on user preferences, and apply Liquid logic for seamless dynamic data. This ensures efficiency, accuracy, and precision in your template creation process.

What is a prompt?
A prompt is simply an instruction or request you give to the Template Assistant. You can think of it as the command you provide, which the assistant carries out for you.

For example, if you want to include a product grid in your email template, you can type a prompt like:
“Add a product grid with two rows and two columns to showcase product recommendations.”

The assistant will be able to generate the necessary code, which you can review and apply directly to your template.

The Template Assistant now supports the following workflows:

  • HTML editor for email and live content templates: Enables targeted edits by interacting with specific sections of your HTML templates, overcoming size limitations and improving efficiency.
  • Shared asset HTML editor: It integrates seamlessly, allowing the insertion of shared assets and images via ‘@mentions’ and generating AI-powered content suggestions for reusable email components.
  • Visual editor for email and live content templates: This editor supports generating tailored Liquid code and personalized text suggestions, making it easier to incorporate dynamic and personalized elements.

Navigate to Assistants (under Customer AI) from the left navigation panel.

The AI Assistant Admin page from which the Template Assistant can be launched is similar for email, shared assets, and live content templates.

Sections on this page:

Field Input type Description
Instructions Textbox The template comes with predefined guidelines. You can customize it with specific instructions, such as style settings, grids, or logo placement.
Welcome message Textbox This is shown on the assistant screen when the template opens. Provide guidance or context for the template.
Update Button Saves changes to the instructions or welcome message.
Template selection Drop-down menu The default is 'Create a new template.' Select or type an existing template name to modify.
Launch assistant chat Button Opens the editor for creating or editing templates.

  Note

The AI Template Assistant will be available on all new and existing templates. You can open an existing HTML email, shared asset, live content template, or a new one by navigating from the left panel (to the respective template), selecting +TEMPLATE, and choosing the HTML Editor (or Template) option.
