Troubleshooting Syndication Errors

If you are setting up syndications on Blueshift and run into one of the following errors, you can use the help here to troubleshoot the issues. 

Errors with Facebook syndications

Message How to troubleshoot?
List Not Found: Custom audience(ID: {$ID}) could not be found. Please select a valid custom audience list before you restart the syndication.

This error occurs if there is an issue with the audience that you create on Facebook and select it on our platform. Ensure that you select a valid audience list before you restart the syndication. 

How to choose the correct audience?

Ensure that the audience that you choose is valid and exists in your Facebook advertising account. To see the audiences in your account:

  1. Sign into the Facebook account that manages your Facebook advertisements and then go to the Ads manager
  2. Click on the menu icon, select All Tools and click Audiences.

Authorization Error: There was an error validating the authorization for the Facebook integration setting {$alias name}. Please reset authorization using the Blueshift platform before you retry.

This error occurs there is an issue with the integration of our platform with Blueshift. Before you retry the syndication, review the Facebook integrations and ensure that:

  • You have specified the correct alias name
  • You have specified the correct advertising account ID
  • You reset the Facebook authorization

How to provide the correct advertising account ID?

  1. Sign into the Facebook account that manages your Facebook advertisements and go to the Ads manager.
  2. Copy the Facebook Advertising ID from the account that you wish to manage.

  3. Paste the ID in the Advertising Account ID field on the Setup Integrations page. In addition, specify an alias for this integration.

  4. Click Authorize Facebook.  A pop-up appears that requests you to sign into the Facebook advertising account to let us access audiences that you have created in Facebook.  
  5. Authorize Blueshift with the specified permissions.
  6. After Blueshift authorizes the Facebook integration, click Save.
 

Authorization Error: The Facebook integration setting {$alias name} doesn't have the necessary permissions on the Facebook Ad Account (Ad Account ID: {$ID}). Please reset authorization using the Blueshift platform before you retry.

 

How to reset the authorization?

  1. Go to Business Settings
  2. Under Ad Account Roles, select Add People.
  3. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to give access to.

Terms of Service Error: Terms of service (TOS) have not been accepted. To accept, go to https://www.facebook.com/customaudiences/app/tos

This error occurs if you have not accepted the terms of service for the custom audience you have created on Facebook. Ensure that you accept the terms of service, here.  

2-Factor Authorization Error: Please enable two-factor authentication on your personal Facebook account and then reset authorization for Facebook integration setting {$alias name} on the Blueshift platform.

This error occurs if 2-factor authentication is disabled for the Facebook account that you are using to create syndications. Ensure that you enable 2-factor authorization for the advertising account and then Reset Authorization for Facebook on the Facebook integrations page of our platform.

How to reset the authorization?

  1. Within the Blueshift platform, click on your name in the top right corner of the page > Setup Integrations.
  2. On the Setup Integrations page, click Facebook under Advertising Platforms.
  3. On an integration, click Reset Authorization.

Login Disabled: This shared login (Ad Account ID: $account ID} is disabled. Go to Ads Manager for more information.

This error occurs if the advertising account ID that you specify on the Facebook integrations page is disabled. For more information, visit Facebook Ads Manager. 

  • Facebook Service Error: There was an error executing the syndication. Please contact support@blueshift.com for more information.
  • Facebook Service Error: Please retry after a few minutes.

Duplicate List: Custom audience "{$name}" already exists. Please choose a different name.

This error can occur if you try to create and save an audience using a name that already exists. Ensure that you provide a unique name for the custom audience you are trying to create. 

How to see the list of audiences on Facebook?

  1. Sign into the Facebook account that manages your Facebook advertisements and then go to the Ads manager
  2. Click on the menu icon, select All Tools and click Audiences.

  3. Here, you can see the list of audiences that you have created on Facebook. 

Create Error: There was an error creating the custom audience. Please retry.

Tip: Try choosing a different name or description if it doesn't work.

This error can occur if you try to create and save an audience with properties that already exist. Try to provide a unique name and/or description and try again.

Errors with Google syndications

Message How to troubleshoot?
Authorization Error: The Google integration setting {$alias name} doesn't have the necessary permissions on the Google Adwords Account (Client Customer ID: {$ID}). Please reset authorization using the Blueshift platform before you retry.  

This error can occur if the necessary permissions are not granted to the client customer ID that you provide on the Google integration page.

Ensure that:

  • The customer ID you provide has the required permissions
  • You reset the authorization

How to provide the correct customer ID?

Login to Google Ads and on the top right side of the page, you can see the customer ID.

How to reset the authorization?

  1. Within the Blueshift platform, click on your name in the top right corner of the page > Setup Integrations.
  2. On the Setup Integrations page, click Google under Advertising Platforms. 
  3. On an integration, click Reset Authorization.

List Not Found: User list (ID: {$ID}) could not be found. Please select a valid user list before you restart the syndication.

This error can occur if the list ID that you specify in a syndication is invalid. Ensure that you provide a valid and correct list ID and then restart the syndication.  

Duplicate List: User List "{$name}" already exists. Please choose a different name.

This error can occur when you specify a name for a list, but another list is already using that name. Ensure that you provide a unique name for each user list. 

Google Service Error: Please retry after a few minutes.

Retry after some time.

Limit Exceeded: Please retry after a few minutes.

Retry after some time. 

  1. Google Service Error: There was an error executing the syndication. Please contact support@blueshift.com for more information. 
  2. Google Service Error: Please retry after a few minutes.

Authorization Error: The Google integration setting "{$alias name}" doesn't have the necessary permissions on the Google Adwords Account (Client Customer ID: {$ID}). Please whitelist the account ID ($Client Customer ID) to allow use of uploaded data in your Google Adwords account settings. This error can occur when Blueshift doesn't have the permissions that are required to access your Google Adwords account. Ensure that you whitelist the client customer ID that you provide us, so that we can use the data in your Google Adwords account. For more information on setting up Google Adwords integration, see Google Ads integration.
Authorization Error: Please ensure that you are using the correct Client Customer ID and Google Verification Code. This error can occur when Google Adwords cannot authenticate our requests. Ensure that you provide the correct client customer ID and the verification code from Google so that Google can authenticate our requests. Errors with Criteo syndications

Message How to troubleshoot?
Authorization Error: Please ensure that you are using the correct Client ID and Client Secret. On the Criteo integration, ensure that you provide the correct Client ID and Client Secret. 
Invalid Audience Name: Audience name cannot be empty Ensure that you specify an appropriate audience at the time of creating a syndication. 
  1. Criteo Service Error: There was an error executing the syndication. (Error code: 400). Please contact support@blueshift.com for more information.
  2. Criteo Service Error: Please retry after a few minutes.

Authorization Error: There was an error authorizing the Criteo integration setting "{$alias name}". Please reset authorization using the Blueshift platform before you retry.

On the Criteo integration, click Reset Authorization.

Criteo

Advertiser Not Found: The Criteo integration setting "{$alias name}" does not have access to the Advertiser ID {$ID}. Please add a valid advertiser ID. Ensure that you provide the correct Advertiser ID on the Criteo integration.  
List Not Found: Audience list (ID: {$ID}) could not be found. Please select a valid custom audience list before you restart the syndication. Ensure that you select an appropriate list that exists in Criteo at the time of creating a syndication.
Duplicate List: Audience "{$name}" already exists. Please choose a different name. Ensure that you use a unique name if you create a custom list at the time of creating a syndication.
Limit Exceeded: Please retry after a few minutes. Retry after some time.
